This Honey Glazed Pork Belly just might be your next FAVORITE weeknight dinner!
A sticky and savory Honey Glazed Pork Belly recipe that requires only 5 minutes prep and cooks in just 20 minutes in the Air Fryer? Am I serious ? YES!!! Air Fried Pork Belly will be your new favorite! I usually buy pre sliced pork belly that has the skin removed to make this meal easier and faster to prepare. At Costco, the pre sliced pork belly is around $4.99/lb.
Every Air Fryer is Different.
I have 2 Air fryers, and one is 1400 watts, and one is 900 watts. This pork belly may cook in as little as 12-15 minutes depending on your air fryer. For your first time making this air fried pork belly recipe, I recommend cooking at 375, and turning it up to 385-400 for the last few minutes to char the bites. I would recommend at the 10 and 15 minute mark to always check on the progress of your pork belly for doneness
Do I have to use pork belly with the skin removed to make this Honey Glazed Pork Belly Recipe?
Most Asian markets that carry pork belly can help you remove the skin from the pork belly and slice into 1" thick strips, or cubes. Since 20 minutes is a shorter cooking time, it is not enough time to crisp up or soften the skin, so removing the skin is recommended.
Picking the right pork belly slab for Honey Glazed Pork Belly:
Since this a quick cook pork belly recipe, the best type of slab to use for this recipe is a slab that is on the leaner side. Look for a slab that has at least 60/40 meat to fat ratio, try to find one that does not have more fat than meat. If a fattier slab is used, there will be more fat to chew through since the cook time does not allow all the fat to render off and break down. While it will still be tasty, it might be a little heavy to eat.

Hi! I canโt handle pork belly due the fat and issues it causes for me. I know pork chops are a leaner cut, but do you think/have you tried a similar prep style on pork chops?
TheSavoryChopstick Recipes says
Hi Amanda!
Pork butt is a great substitute for pork belly, if that works for you but pork chops can work as well. I also have a garlic parmesan recipe for pork chops, and you can also try my cha siu pork recipe with leaner cuts as well. For the leaner cuts Iโd recommend poking with a fork to tenderize prior to marinating, and watching closely to avoid over cooking. Iโve gotten feedback that the leaner cuts also work well with these recipes too. Please let me know how it works out !
