Background
Air fryers have revolutionized cooking by providing an alternative to traditional frying. By circulating hot air around the food, they create a crispy texture while using significantly less oil. This soy sauce chicken recipe highlights the air fryer's capabilities, making it an ideal dish for busy weeknights.
One of my favorite appliances in my home is my Air Fryer, and if you have one (or 2 Air Fryers like me), you know why! As a mom of three, I love being able to create easy healthy meals in less than 30 minutes with the help of my air fryer. If you aren't part of the Air Fryer Fam yet, don't worry, You can also easily make my Soy Sauce chicken thigh air fryer recipe in your oven at 400 deg for 20 minutes.
How long should I air fry chicken?
Every Air Fryer is different. I have 2 Air fryers, and one is 1400 watts, and one is 900 watts. Both air fryers cook this chicken very well. However, my stronger air fryer does crisp up the skin faster and cooks a few minutes faster as well, 15 mins vs 20 min. I would recommend at the 15 minute mark to always check on the progress of your chicken.

Any suggestions for a gluten-free alternative to dark soy sauce?
Thanks!
The Savory Chopstick says
Hi Jim! Lee Kum Kee Vegetarian Stir fry sauce is a great substitute for Oyster Sauce and Dark Soy Sauce. It is gluten free and a great condiment to have on hand. I just discovered it recently and I love adding it to my Vegan creations as well. Link Here for reference: LKK Vegetarian Stir Fry Sauce

Did you remove the bones?
The Savory Chopstick says
Hi Judy, I did remove the bones but you can leave them if you'd like. This should increase the cook time about 5 minutes.

Hello, what is the best dipping sauce for this Soy Sauce Chicken?
Thank you.
The Savory Chopstick says
Hi! This type of chicken is seasoned prior to cooking to it usually doesn’t need a dipping sauce. If you like hotsauce or chili oil that always goes well with chicken 🙂
