This is an easy pickled onions recipe you need to try! I love adding these pickled onions to my tacos, Vietnamese chicken salad and eating with ALL BBQ food. These are a must try if you haven't had them yet !
These pickled red onions are so savory and really add a nice dimension to almost anything you can think of. I've had this on sandwiches, inside noodle soups, and also as a nice pairing with anything eaten with rice. This is one pickled red onions recipe you will need to try.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- ½ cup Rice Vinegar (Seasoned) Or Apple Cider Vinegar
- ½ cup Water
- 1 Red Onion
- 1 Shallot

Instructions
- 1. Thinly slice 1 Red Onion and 1 Shallot.
- 2. Add 1 tablespoon salt , 1 tablespoon sugar and ½ cup Rice Vinegar (Seasoned) to your jar and mix well
- 3. Add Sliced Onions and Shallots to jar
- 4. Top off with water
- 5. Pickle can be enjoyed immediately but it's best after a few hours or overnight. Your pickles will be ready to eat with they turn a solid pink color.
- Note : The thinner the onions and shallots are sliced, the faster they will be ready to eat!
